Lion & Lioness Watching TV - Youtube Video

Quite Hilarious!

Christian, the lion

Christian the Lion - the full story (in HQ)

I got so teary after watching! The moment Christian recognizes his past owners, and he walked quickly to them....just so touching and inspirational! You could see the happiness of his past owners...their smiles just indicate how happy they are to see him! Sure, the song was a bit cheesy, but the thought and actions are true, and it brings a powerful message in just 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

True Story

This video is actually clips of a true story about Christian the lion, and it has been a Youtube sensation since July 2008. It's an old story, but somehow the video got noticed again, and now, it has reached millions of hits on Youtube! There are more clips of the interactions between his past owners as well as his journey from London to Africa, and also the interaction with other lions in the full documentary on Youtube. You can watch the whole documentary in 10 parts here: Playlist: Christian The Lion full Movie. If you like it a lot, you can also purchase the real copy here: Born Free Organization.

George Adamson, is the man who helped many lions including Christian rehabilitate into the wilderness again. An exceptional man, but I find the saddest part is that he had to shoot a lion named Boy, in the heart, because Boy wounded George's assistant fatally. I thought it was really tragic as the documentary showed that Boy and George were really good friends before this tragic incident, and had complete trust for each other with Boy at one point trusting George more than other lions. But because of this incident, George, the man Boy trusted so much, ended up shooting him in the heart. A pity how it simply says that there is always a thin line between humans and animals, and in some cases, human beings in general. Nonetheless, he is a great man for helping so many lions to adapt to the wilderness and live as truly free lions. Here is a website with many pictures of George Adamson and the many lions he has helped, including pictures with Christian and Boy: George Adamson Pictures Photos.

Good Summary article on Christian

Here is the link to the article:Christian, the lion who lived in my London living room

This is one of my favorite parts from the above article in which the owner remembers the memories of Christian:

"He pauses, then adds, "And he had a very good sense of humour."

Really?

"Oh yes. Sometimes, he'd see people staring at him through the back window of the car, keep very still on purpose - and then, just when they were convinced he was a stuffed toy, he would very slowly turn his head and freak them out.
"

I could imagine how freaked out the people would be seeing a lion turn his head slowly, probably unblinking too! LOL Below pictures is probably a good example haha!

I did a wallpaper with various pictures of him, but then paint pro shop encountered an error and it was gone! Maybe one day I'll work on it again! But whether I do or not in the future, no doubt, Christian is a lion with so much character and has left a set of footprints in a lot of people's heart, even mind too! Best of all, he has done a lot of good for attracting attention and perhaps have persuaded a lot of humans to take note of animal cruelty and promote conservation. Here's to Christian, not only a lion, but a brilliant lion!

A blog about Lions

Ever since I saw the Youtube video about Christian the Lion, I wanted to learn more about lions and lionesses. I surfed various websites on lions, even checked out library books related to George Adamson and company, the organizations that deal with lions, and in the process, I have learned many things about lions...the good things and the bad things, but even so, I continue to be fascinated about lions, and I would like to share whatever 'lion' things I can find. Thus, I have created this blog.

Why is this blog call Handsome Lions? It's because in the many videos or things I've read about them, many male lions are always called 'handsome'. Of course, this blog will also include lionesses as well, but I think the name Handsome Lions is quite catchy!

If you find lions fascinating and beautiful as well, and would like to share a website on lions or pictures of lions you have come across, please email me at jadedreams@gmail.com
